Niagara Falls

Today was our one day at Niagara Falls and it did not disappoint.

We started by crossing into Canada, mainly to get it over with. The process was super quick and smooth. The border patrol agent asked just a few questions, and it only took about 5 minutes. He asked if we were bringing in alcohol, tobacco, or weapons. He asked to see the children (a passing glance), and asked where we were coming from (which was a bit of a sticky question for a fulltimer, but he rolled with it just fine), and when and where we would be exiting Canada. Super easy!

First sightseeing adventure of the day was to Journey Behind the Falls. The last time Deon and I had been here we had mostly done the American side, but when I was little I did the Canadian side. It tickled me to remember this from when I was 8. It was awe inspring to see the volume of water coursing down in front of us, and fun to read the little tidbits on the signage.

Our next adventure took us for a ride on the Hornblower, the Canadian equivalent to the USA Maid of the Mist. It’s a fun, albeit wet, boat ride to the foot of the Falls.

We had some hours to kill, so we wandered around the uber touristy Canadian city and grabbed some dinner. Then back to the Falls for the lighting and fireworks.

It was a pretty magical day.
