Disney day 4

This morning we hooked up and sadly said our goodbyes and pulled out of thousand trails. It is an interesting feeling to really feel what another life would be like. I could live this rv life forever. I could spend my winters in Florida, friends coming and going for my kids.  Then we spent our last day at Disney Hollywood Studios. It was decidedly the smallest park. Today was mostly about the shows, although we did do some rides. We…

More puking

What is it about this trip that has caused so much puking in my family?!? Turns out Jedi didn’t get sick from the buffet, apparently, as last night I had not one, not two, not even three, BUT FOUR puking kids! Kieran, Aunica, Sidda and Finn. It was a spectacular mess.  It was also very sad to spend our last day at thousand trails Orlando cooped up in the rv. And Sidda’s hopes of a birthday ice cream party were…

Second sabbath

We rarely get to go to church in the same location twice, so this was a treat. Plus getting to go to church with friends was extra special.  After church we headed to the Spencer’s house with dinner. Mark was out of town in China, so it was nice to bring dinner and keep Lora company. We made taco soup and the kids played dress up. Lora gave each of my girls new dresses.  It was hard saying goodbye, as…

Sick, again

This post will cover two days, because I didn’t do much. The morning of the 24th Jedi woke up puking. I thought maybe the Chinese buffet. Let him out to play the next morning and within half an hour he came inside and threw up again. So he spent a few days inside. The other kids got out and played with friends. Aunica has some friends she has been hanging out with. She walks to a local gas station for…

Strange days

We have been here long enough that it almost feels like regular life. Not a vacation. The slow, everyday normalcy. And I wish we could stay here forever.  Today we went to the parking lot of Disneys Hollywood Studios theme park. I say the parking lot because it was so crowded just in the parking lot that we turned around and came home. Silly, I know, but the long lines make my kids wish we hadn’t come, and for that…

Ode to the best neighbors ever

Well, I’m not much of a poet, so I will spare the prose. But I want to speak a little about our neighbors.  We lucked out on arrival here at getting to park next to a wonderful family with 8 kids that we met at the Hangout in Williamsburg, VA, the Deschenes. Now, if it wasn’t for Alisha, we wouldn’t be here at all, since she finegaled last minute reservations for us here. With 8 kids there is always someone…

Birthday Baby

Today my baby turned 2 years old. He is the light of our lives. We have all doted on him since I brought him home. He is a happy, smiley character that we can’t get enough of! We celebrated his birthday by going to Disney Epcot. It was fun, but not our favorite park. It was pretty crowded, and I would have liked to enjoy the different countries with less people. We were able to ride quite a few rides…

Disney Day 2: Animal Kingdom

This ended up being our favorite park! Others did not feel the same, but we loved how beautiful it was and how there were activities for everyone.  The park is broken up into regions of the world, with the tree of life being the focal point. We were able to do so much.  My favorite part of the day was how brave Jedi and especially Finn were. Finn did a very scary ride, expedition Everest, laughing the whole time. He…

R and R

“This is the life!” I am definitely feeling this quote today!  This is my life for now. Beautiful, balmy Florida winter. There are 2 pools, a hot tub, room to play and many friends. We have parked next to one of my favorite families, with 8 kids of their own, and someone for everyone to hangout with. All my kids seem to have made more friends on the road than they ever did at home. This definitely feels like a…

Happy birthday at the happiest place in earth! (Aka Disney day 1)

Today Sidda turned 11! I’m not quite sure where the last 11 years have gone, leaving me with this beautiful, funny, compassionate (and passionate) young lady.  As she has been anticipating for MONTHS, we spent the day at Disneyworld, specifically Magic Kingdom. The lines were pretty long, but we still got to see and do a lot. We went on the Swiss family treehouse, the magic carpets, the jungle cruise, the tiki room (which baby K still loves to sing,…
