What a day!

We had a jam-packed day today, but we all wished it could have been longer.

We were up and moving pretty early this morning. Our first stop was the International Crane Foundation. This is an amazing place, a zoo just for cranes. They have all 15 species on site. I was very impressed with all the work this organization does throughout the world. We all loved the beautiful birds.

Then (conveniently across the street) we headed to Mt Olympus theme and water park. Holy cow!! Wisconsin dells is home to a large concentration of water parks, but I had decided to skip it. Not educational, too expensive, blah, blah, blah. But when $5 tickets were advertised 2 days earlier and we were only 30 minutes away, with time to spare, I couldn’t resist. 44 waterslides, 5 big roller coasters, 7 go-kart rides, and plenty of kiddie rides. Too fun. The only complaint was that it wasn’t open long enough.

And, finally, we finished off the day with a campfire and s’mores. We even sang campfire songs. This may look like camping to most folks, but it sure doesn’t feel like it. We rarely stay in campgrounds, so no fire or beautiful, peaceful surroundings. This was a treat (and free). A sweet ending to an amazing day.
