Seneca Lake, NY

If you have never visited the finger lakes region of New York, put it on your list, you won’t regret it.

We scored a campsite at Sampson State Park on Seneca Lake. Deon worked while the kids and I decompressed. Really, we just stayed out all day. The campground was amazing (and not just because it was empty, which we love). The sites were huge (the pics of the boys are in our “backyard”), there were two giant playgrounds, a swimming beach, and free play equipment checkouts. The best part may have been the fields of dandelion heads waiting for wishes. It was like little fairies flying into the air as my kids ran.

Here is my pondering about rv life as we are camped here. There can be a stigma about living in a “trailer.” Trailer trash, even cps called for child endangerment. I am parked at this amazing location on 200 acres. Who wouldn’t want to live here? I could never afford to buy it, but I can afford to stay here at $25/night. This seems like so much *more* than the average person gets. I think we have our priorities backwards here in the great USA. We’ve decided to buck the system. And I’ll take my view over yours any day.
