Failed day

Well, today was a bit of a failed day. We are STILL struggling with the time change. Today is Sunday. The closest church was 30 minutes away, the only time was 9am, and we had to unhook, dump and fill. I woke up at 9.

Needless to say, we missed church. Which is a very unusual occurrence, so I’m not going to stress about it. Generally I would rush, yelling and pushing to get everyone out the door. But today I accepted the inevitable and tried my best to salvage my Sunday. I made ham and cheese quiche, the best quiche I ever made. We watched conference addresses, and I took notes so I could implement things I felt prompted about.

Eventually we did get on the road. It was a beautiful, wild drive through the lowlands of North Carolina’s coast. We plannned to make it to the ferry at Cedar island and head over to the outer banks. We did make it to the ferry. But it wasn’t running. The high winds created unsafe conditions. No place to park, no internet access. We were a bit stymied.

We drove back out, got some advice and phone numbers. Turned out we could park in the ferry line until the first ferry of the morning (7am). So we did. Ventured out to look at the sea and the ponies. Then bedded down early for an early morning.
