Truman today

I have decided that history is really my favorite thing. And English (because it involves reading). Today we went to the Harry s Truman museum. It was so cool. There is so much I didn’t know about this president. He really made some decisions that changed the course of our history (dropping the atomic bombs, beginning integration in the military and White House, recognizing Israel as a country). This Torah was given Truman by the president of Israel in gratitude. The museum itself was very interactive. I found it interesting that a poll of who visitors would vote for in the upcoming election had Bernie sanders as a 32% write in.

Our other visit today was to another of our church sites, liberty jail, where Joseph smith was incarcerated for 5 months. Although it is a recreation, the below ground space and floor is original.

We experienced our first weather threat tonight, a severe thunder storm warning. We decided to ride it out and (obviously) were fine. Really only I was scared. No hail, but the Lightning cracked and the thunder shook the trailer. It only lasted about 15 minutes, just like the warning said.
