A quick fix
Woke up well rested after a night in the outdoors (ish). We didn’t rush to get a move on, but the tire store was super quick. We were in and out in 20 minutes with 2 new tires and one new rim.
Today we hit the Tall Grass Prairie National Preserve. I am so glad we had more time today than being rushed yesterday. We did a 2 mile walk (they call it a hike, but Deon takes offense at anything out here being called a hole). The grass is more than 6 feet high and still a month from its peak. The kids completed another junior ranger program, which finn asks for every day.
From there we skedaddled out to Hutchinson, KS. My kids had been sad that we were missing our annual fair at home, so I did some research and lucked out to find the Kansas state fair going on in the city we would be in the week that we were there! Tonight’s event was the demolition derby. We hadn’t ever been (any of us!) so we went. It was so fun! And LOUD! There was even a woman competing. She didn’t win, but she drove away, so that’s something.
