Monday madness

For those who know me, I stay busy. It’s not unusual for me to line up a multitude of back-to-back activities in one day (followed by a similar schedule the next day, and the next, and…) This was a Monday like that. I think we were just trying to fit it all in with Kim. Deon, knowing me well, decided to bow out today.

We started off the day at grants farm. It is owned by anheiser Busch, so they have the famous Clydesdales, which I love. It is more like a zoo than a farm. We took a nice tram ride, an elephant show, fed baby goats bottles, rode a carousel and ate snowcones. Plus we fed this very funny camel.

We headed out for lunch, then on to the zoo. Almost everything in Saint Louis is free. The zoo, science museum, art museum, grants farm. So, with about 3 1/2 hours, we decide to see a fraction of their enormous zoo.

Then, because I’m a sucker for pain, we head back to auntie Kims hotel for dinner and a swim. It is an awesome hotel: a converted 19th century train station. Opulent, grand, and rabbit-hole-like, I promptly get lost. And stress that my kids will plunge from the not-to-code balconies. Finally make it to their room, then down poolside for dinner. Except the pool is closed. I’ll take a shower instead. Ready to head home, we sit in the hotel lounge to watch their light show. So cool!

And, finally, I head home, leaving the girls for their sleepover.
