Lessons to learn
Well, this is one I have been working on for a long time. Sometimes I’m better at it than others. Patience. Especially in the face of deadlines and expectations not being met. Trying to remember that relationships are more important than getting somewhere on time.
So, in that vein, we left 11 and a half hours later than I had originally planned. Or, half an hour early, if you don’t count the pm. So many last minute things to do. And, in the snowball effect, we didn’t get to see the things in Vegas I had hoped. In fact, we didn’t even make it to Vegas, but a rest stop in boron, CA. Not even out of the state.
Which, of course, effected our next day. A long day turned into an interminable day. We watched church in the car, and drove for 12 hours, including stops, which were few. The kids were troopers, extra good sports. We didn’t stop much, but it was 120 degrees, so that didn’t seem like much fun anyway. We ended up in nephi, UT, just a little short of our intended destination.
We did stop in Baker, CA at the worlds tallest thermometer (109 degrees). Here is a pic of my cute mini photographer, and the kids miserable faces.

Thank you for a very informative site. Where else may I get that kind of information written in such a perfect way?
Thanks! I plan most of my activities based around trekaroo’s top ten thing to do in each state. Add in some national parks and science museums.
