Vermont, teddy bears, maple syrup and beautiful scenery
The kids were so excited to start our day at the Vermont teddy bear factory. The tour guide was very sweet, and it was obvious the company really cared about their product. The bears are all articulated and come with a lifetime guarantee (we even saw the teddy bear hospital).
My favorite was the Bernie sanders bear. I wish I could have bought one for each of my children, but that kind of quality, hand made workmanship comes with a hefty price tag. The regular sized bears start at $50, and the smallest available versions are $30. With 6 kids, it wasn’t happening today.
Next stop was a bit of a bust. I wanted the kids to see maple syrup making in action (or as close to it as possible, knowing sugaring season is over). We headed to Dakin farm, where the process all year long, but they just happened to have painted the floor today, so we couldn’t go in. There were more tasty samples though, and the scenery can’t be beat.
The weather was gorgeous today, at least 75 degrees, and the kids needed to run, so we headed to the closest park, which was at a school. The kids played for hours and hours. I sat out there with them, enjoying the sunshine, and Aunica whittled. I couldn’t believe what a beautiful view these kids have every day! Then we had a fun playground follow the leader family home evening. The kids laughed and played together. It was a pretty perfect night.
