Fantastic day! I needed a day when some things worked out.

Because of yesterday’s move, we were able to walk right over to the Liberty and Ellis island ferry. I was afraid without advance reservations we wouldn’t be able to get a same day ticket, but we walked right on.

First stop: Ellis island. Picnic lunch, walk through the museum. 

Next stop: liberty island. We walked around lady liberty and listened to an audio history of her.

Finally, Deon headed into the city to take the girls to a play and I took the boys back to NJ. 

My adventure was more successful than his. There weren’t any shows cheap enough that he was interested in seeing, so they just ended up out to dinner at Applebee’s in Times Square. Which is a little funny, because that is where I spent my 30th birthday, with Deon and the girls, and my best friend, Kim, and her boyfriend.

The boys and I sprinted to the liberty science center. We had about an hour to play (it was free with our ASTC membership). We had another lost child incident, but he wasn’t really lost, just hadn’t realized I was in the bathroom and had left Dimitri in charge.
