We made some tracks today, back into North Carolina. All of a sudden it doesn’t feel like we are in the south anymore. The landscape, weather, and general feel are different.

It was mostly a driving day, no touristy activities. We headed for a national forest and were not disappointed by it. The kids had a blast playing in the puddles and washing the van in the rain. 

Here is a funny thing about our trip. It’s like one day we live out in the woods, the next in the country. This happens all the time. We park at a Walmart, we park in a forest. The same has been true of weather. We have been in freezing Arkansas, hot Florida, now back north, experiencing cold weather again. It’s like repeating the seasons in fast forward. Our trip is a little manic, but we love it!
