Long days
Man, these long days of driving are killing me! And deon. And we have quite a few more to go.
Today’s adventure was to white sands national monument in New Mexico. The girls and I visited many years ago. Deon got in a few hours of work while the kids and I terrorized the visitors center (and volunteer ranger). We bought our stuff, including sleds, grabbed deon and went out to play.
One thing about white sands, you can’t take a bad picture. It is that beautiful. Today was blustery, terribly windy, and even rained on us some. I missed the glistening white sand from my last visit, but it was still very beautiful.
The kids had a blast. The sand was fine, but seemed sharper. It was certainly slick as the kids flew down the hills. We didn’t last as long as I had hoped though, because it was COLD. About 45 degrees. Aunica’s feet hurt, and deon was worried about getting caught in the storm. So, as a travel tip, visit when it’s a bit warmer!
